Can I sell Ticketmaster tickets on StubHub or SeatGeek?

Many fans buy tickets on Ticketmaster and later wonder if they can move those tickets to other marketplaces like StubHub or SeatGeek to find a better deal or more buyers.

This page gives a high-level overview of how that works in general. It is not legal advice and does not replace Ticketmaster's or any marketplace's own terms and policies.

Before you list Ticketmaster tickets elsewhere, check this

Not every Ticketmaster ticket can be freely moved to another marketplace. You'll want to check:

  • Transferability – Does your Ticketmaster account show that the tickets can be transferred to another person or platform?
  • Restrictions – Are there notes about the tickets being non-transferable, face-value only, or limited to Ticketmaster's own exchange?
  • Marketplace policies – Do StubHub or SeatGeek currently allow listings for this exact event and ticket type?

Pros and cons of staying on Ticketmaster vs moving elsewhere

In broad strokes, your options look like:

  • Resell on Ticketmaster – May be simpler, with fewer transfer steps, and clearly within the platform's own rules if resale is enabled.
  • List on StubHub or SeatGeek – Can sometimes offer a larger resale audience or different pricing dynamics, but requires you to handle transfers carefully and stay within all terms.

To decide, you'll want to consider both fees and payout timing across marketplaces, not just whether listing is technically possible.

Compare payouts across marketplaces before you move tickets

If your tickets are transferable and allowed to be resold on other sites, a practical next step is to compare expected net payouts:

  1. Estimate realistic sale prices on Ticketmaster and on other sites.
  2. Use public fee ranges for each marketplace as a starting point.
  3. Plug your numbers into the ticket resale payout calculator to see your estimated take-home amounts side by side.
