Editorial policy: how we verify ticket fee information

Who writes and reviews our guides

Seller guides on Neon Seats are written and maintained by the Neon Seats Editorial Team. The team is not owned by, or paid by, any single ticket marketplace, so no guide is written to make one platform look better than another.

Every guide is built around the same seller-calculator engine that powers the ticket resale fee calculator, so the examples in our articles use the same fee assumptions the calculator shows you — we do not keep a separate, unchecked set of numbers for editorial content.

Our fee-verification methodology

Because most marketplaces do not publish one fixed seller-fee percentage for every event, we follow a consistent process instead of guessing:

1. Start from the marketplace's own help center or seller support article — not a third-party blog — as the primary source for fee and payout timing claims.
2. When a marketplace publishes an exact figure (for example, a fixed seller commission), we cite it directly and link to the source.
3. When fees are variable, we say so explicitly and label any percentage we use in examples as an estimate, never as an official rate.
4. We re-check each source on a recurring schedule and whenever we notice a marketplace has updated its published policy. The date we last checked appears on every guide as “Last verified.”
5. We do not use AI to invent factual claims such as fee percentages or payout timelines — those numbers come only from the sources listed on each page.

Sourcing standards

We prioritize sources in this order:

• A marketplace's own help center, seller terms, or support articles.
• The payout preview shown directly in a marketplace's listing flow.
• Widely corroborated public reporting, used only to provide context when a marketplace does not publish an exact figure.

We never present a third-party estimate as if it were an official marketplace rate. If you are about to list tickets, the payout preview on the marketplace itself is always the authoritative number — our guides are there to help you understand it, not replace it.

Correction policy

If you notice information that looks outdated or incorrect, please contact us with the page and what you believe is wrong. We review correction reports, re-check the source, and update the page — bumping its “Last verified” date — as soon as we confirm the change.

Material factual corrections to this policy itself are logged below so you can see when our process changes, not just when individual guides are updated.
